Read Proverbs 31

Have you ever read Proverbs 31??? I have and it is the best passage that I have read. I love it, just the way that it explains how we need to be a wife and a mother. If you haven't read Proverbs 31 then you should read it and try to focus on all of those things that are in there. Those are all of the qualities that I want to have when I get married. Let's work on this together!!! Have a great day!!!

Be Humble

"A man's pride will bring him low, But the humble in spirit will retain honor." Proverbs 29:23. We need to remember this verse because it is so true. I do struggle with that sometimes but I just need to remember that the Lord put this verse in front of me for a reason. Let's work on being humble and not prideful. I hope this encourages you to purpose to be humble.

Update on Papa

Hello t Everyone,

I am just letting you know that Papa is doing wonderful. He is a 89 degree angel right now and the physical therapist said that she wants it at a hundred. He is increasing every visit which is good. The pain is under control and he doesn't really have much pain unless he is doing his exercises. He has a lot of exercises that he does everyday. So that is the update and if anything changes I will let you know.

Be Strong in the Lord

Don't you want to be known as a wise man? I surely do. Well, today I have a verse from Proverbs 24, it is about being a wise man and and how a wise man is strong. It says, "A wise man is strong, Yes, a man of knowledge increases strength." (Proverbs 24:5) So, lets try to be a strong wise man. I only know of one person that we can take that example from and that would be Jesus Christ who was the strongest man and a perfect man. He didn't do anything wrong and we do things wrong everyday which means we are like filthy rags. It is so true. Let's try and work on it and be willing to take wisdom.

Take Wisdom

Today I was reading the Proverbs of the day and I came across verse 26, which says, "My son, give me your heart, And let your eyes observe my ways." We need to remember this because it is hard to take wisdom. I am working on taking wisdom and not being selfish and thinking about my own ways. It isn't an easy thing to do so maybe we can all work on it together. I hope that this encourages you to take wisdom more.

Think Before Speak

Today I am going to write about how we be careful what we say. Last night I listened to sermon about the tongue. It was really convicting and I know that I struggle with thinking before I speak. The sermon said that the tongue is the most dangerous part of your body because you can just go to say something and it will come out the srong way and that will offend the person you were talking to. I know it happens on accident sometimes but sometimes we can control it. I have been struggling with that a couple times recently. It just happens so quick you don't even realize what your doing until you have already said it. I have been trying to work on it but it is just a hard thing to do. Maybe you can work on it with me. I hope you have a blessed day.

Live Humble Not Proud

Today I was reading Proverbs 16 and I found a couple verse that I really like. These verse are ones that I go to quite often when I am being prideful. So, the verse is, "Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall. Better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, Than to divide the spoil with the proud. He who heeds the word wisely will find good. And whoever trusts in the Lord. happy is he." Proverbs 16:18-21 I know that everybody is prideful sometimes. We all have our times that we don't want to take wisdom and be prideful. This is a very helpful verse to me though, because I tend to struggle with pride a lot. I need to remember that it is better to live of a humble spirit than with the lowly. Don't be among the pride. I have been working on this character issue for a while. I would suggest that you would work on this with me as I am purposing really hard. I hope you have a blessed day.

Sweet Thought

Today my verse is Proverbs 15:3. Which says, "The eyes of the Lord are in every place, Keeping watch on the evil and the good." I know there may be times when we will want to do something that isn't right and we don't think anybody is watching but that is not true as God is watching everything. It is really amazing of how God can see everything because that is just the way he was meant to be.I know that I don't always think of that and I need to. That verse is one that the girls sing. They sing it to the tune of Row, Row, Row your Boat. They love singing scripture to music. It really is an easier way to do it. I hope you have a blessed day.

How my Family is a Blessing to Me

This is a family picture that we took on Christmas. I just wanted to share it with you and tell you how much a blessing my family is to me. Now that Papa is hurt I just have to keep in my mind that being a servant to him is what I am being called to do right now. Even though sometimes I may not want to do everything that I am asked I still have to do it with a cheerful obedient heart. Papa is such a blessing to me for training me up and teaching me the word of God. Mommy is the best Mom in the world, she does everything around here. She works a lot through out the week and then comes home and tries to catch up on everything in the house. I
do a lot of stuff around the house and Papa and Mommy are very grateful for that. I love being a servant, cooking dinner a lot of the time, making bread for the family, and watching Morgan. It is such a blessing to be able to practice all of these things in my house right now so when I get married, Lord willing one day I will already know a lot of thing on how to run a house hold. Tyler, my brother is a wonderful brother to Morgan and I, he helps me with whatever I may need help with at the time. He is a great brother to have and one that I love to have around. Now, Morgan, she is my little sweetheart, she is the most joyful little girl I have ever seen and when I am down she lifts me up. She is a cuddle bug to everybody and just as sweet as can be. I just wanted to share that to you and I think that you should think of your family very highly. I hope you have a wonderful day!!!

Don't be Lazy

Today I am going to write about Proverbs 10:26, which says, "As vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes, So is the lazy man to those who send him." I just think that we need to keep that in mind. We aren't supposed to be known as a lazy man. I know that I don't want to be known as that and I am sure that you don't either. I have been doing a good job at not being lazy but it just slips sometimes. So, let's just try and work on that together. I hope this encourages you and I hope you have a blessed day.

Abraham and Isaac

Today I am going to write about Abraham and Isaac. The story of how God told Abraham to take his son, his only son Isaac up to Mount Moriah and offer him there as a burnt offering. Abraham got wood together and rode until they saw Mount Moriah. Abraham tied wood around Isaac's back and told the servants to stay there with the donkey. So, he tied wood to Isaac's back and he was wondering what his father was doing to him because they always take a lamb for the burnt offering. He was like father, father where is the lamb?? They went walking until they got to Mount Moriah and then Abraham for the alter ready and put Isaac on top of the alter. He had his pan with his fire in hand and his knife in the other. He was just about to put his hand down with the knife in it but he heard an angel of the Lord speaking to him. God was testing Abraham and he passed. And now that his son was spared he saw a ram and was stuck in the bushes. He got the ram and put it on the alter and used it as a burnt offering. I just think of that story and how faithful Abraham was. We are never that faithful. We need to purpose to be more faithful. Let's work on it together. I hope this blesses you as it blessed me. Have a wonderful day.

Today I have found a wonderful verse for Proverbs 4:10, which says, "Hear, my son, and receive my sayings, and the years of your life will be many." That brings me back to the verse that says, "Honor your father and your mother so that you live long in the land. Right now I am working on taking wisdom and not interrupting my mom when she is bringing something to me so this is a very good verse for that. I need to keep that in mind and remember it. I hope you have a blessed day and that you would have a diligent day.

Gain Wisdom

Today I am going to write about Proverbs 3:13, which says, "Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding." I know that I am not always happy when wisdom is being brought to me. I want to be rude and not listen sometimes. But that is wrong and that is something that I need to work on. Maybe we can all work on that together and gain wisdom. We all can always use more wisdom. We need to take this verse more serious because this is a good thing to work on together. We can hold each other accountable. I hope you have a blessed day and that this encourages you to take wisdom without having a attitude.

Update on Papa

Hello,

Papa is doing pretty good. He has a really tough time with the therapy. He takes a pain pill before he leaves and he said it didn't even touch it. He said that it was really painful. He came home and rested until dinner was ready. He is doing well and all of the rest of us are doing well. We have been busy helping him in and out of bed and into the wheelchair. Just continue to pray. The nerve hasn't woken up yet, he still has foot drop which is like when you can move your foot down but you can't flex your foot. Just continue to pray for him.

Listen to Wisdom

This morning I was reading the first Proverb because it is the first of the month. I read through almost the whole chapter and then I was starting to think that there wasn't going to be a verse for me to write about, but I knew that in a Proverb I couldn't go through a Proverb without finding a good verse to write about. So, I came across this one, verse 33, which says, "But whoever listens to me willl dwell safely, And will be secure, without fear of evil." This part of the chapter is talking about wisdom. We need listen to the call of wisdom when wisdom call out for us. When we do, it says we will dwell safely, be secure, and without fear, that is everything we need in life. I know that I don't do the best of jobs at always taking wisdom but I know I need to work on it. It isn't easy but it is something that all of us can work on together. That just puts peace in my heart. If I take wisdom and listen to that call of it then I will be kept safely. That is a good thing because I know that I don't do very good at it on my own. Sometimes my Mom brings something to my attention and I don't like it but I know that I have to like it because it is something that she is trying to help my character. Listen to the call of wisdom, listen to the call of wisdom. I hope you have a blessed day.

He is very grateful for all of the prayers that you are all lifting up to our great God. Today he goes to Physical Therapy and it probably will be painful so just pray that he will be able to handle it and not get to weak. I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed day.

Pray for Papa

Hello,

Papa isn't doing very well. He hasn't been able to keep any food down and he is getting extremely week. Mom is going to call the Dr. this afternoon. They changed his pain meds because they thought that is what was making him vomit but we don't know because he is still vomiting with the new medicine. Just keep praying. He has lost some weight and is just very, very tired. He has had two really good nights of sleep. That is a good thing. It's not that he is in so much pain but just so week from not eating anything that he can barely get out of bed. He doesn't want to have to go back to the hospital but if he keeps going like this he may have to go and get a IV put back in to keep him hydrated. Just keep him lifted up in your prayers. Thank you all for following and just praying for him.

Finally Home

Hello,

I just wanted to let all of you know that Papa is home and out of the hospital. He is doing well. He isn't eating all that much and is still and little nauseated when he gets up to use the restroom. He is taking high pain meds and will be on them for at least a couple weeks. He came home Sunday afternoon and has been sleeping a lot. It is nice to be home in your own bed. He probably feels a ton better now then he did at the hospital. His knee is very sore from all of the moving of the bones they did. He will have to have two more surgery's in the future, one for the nerve and the other one for the bone. I don't really know when these ones will be but the Dr. said future. He really didn't describe. I will keep updating on him on my blog. I hope you all have a blessed day.

In Recovery

Hello,

I just wanted to let all of you know that Papa is out of surgery and is doing well. He is highly on pain meds right now so he isn't fully awake. His incision is about 20 inches long and then there are just a few other little ones that are only a couple inches long. I haven't really heard much except that he is out of surgery. When he wakes up and is a little responsive the Dr. will see if he can flex his foot and if he can that means that the nerve didn't get damaged during the surgery. Just continue to pray for him that you would give him patience during this rough time. That you would just give my mom comfort and that neither of them would be nervous. I just continue to pray for Papa that the Lord would just guide this whole season. Lord, Please heal Papa's leg Lord just please. Have a great week and I will post more when I hear more from my Mom. Have a blessed night.

Headed to the Hospital

Hello,

I just wanted to let you know that Papa is headed to the hospital. He just left at about 7:20 and his surgery will start somewhere around 10:30 or so. Please be praying. The hard part of the surgery is between 10:30 and 1:00. He will be on high pain meds and will stay the night at the hospital tonight and not sure how long he will stay tomorrow. Pray for my mom, she is very nervous. She is gong to stay at the hospital with Papa and keep him comforted. She will read him scripture when he wakes up and will pray with him. Just continue to pray for him as he is also extremely nervous. I will be updating every couple of days on my blog. I hope you have a wonderful day and just pray for our family as we are growing closer.

Have a Happy Countenance

This morning I was reading Proverbs 15 and I liked the 13 verse in the chapter. It says, "A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance, But by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken." Proverbs 15:13 I know that it is hard to always have a merry heart even when you are upset or something like that. But the Lord says that we need to have a cheerful countenance and that is what we need to listen to. When we don't have a cheerful heart we have sorrow of the heart and then our spirit is broken which we don't want that. That isn't a good thing to do. Let's purpose to have a cheerful countenance and not a sorrowful heart. That isn't a very good thing to have. Just remember that this is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it. I hope you have a wonderful day.

Update of Papa

Hello,

Today Papa goes to the Physical Therapist for physical therapy. It will be painful so please pray that it won't be painful. His surgery is scheduled on the 18th of this month and I don't quite know how long recovery will be. He has just been resting for the passed week and a half. He isn't in pain unless his back starts to hurt because he can't get up. We have all been praying for him and I would just ask that you would please keep him in your prayers. I will be posting updates every couple of days so that everybody knows what is going on with him. Thank you for your prayers and everything that you are all doing for him. Take Wisdom, Get Understanding

This morning I was reading Proverbs 4. This is a chapter of wisdom. One of the verses that caught my eye are verse 7. It says, " Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting get understanding."(Proverbs 4:7) We need to take wisdom and we need to understand and think about it. When you are having a good day with taking wisdom and then you don't take it the next day we need to think about that. It is really a difficult think to do at the moment. I know it is for me. I don't always take it in the moment but in my heart I want to take it. When you take wisdom and don't give an excuse then you will get understanding and you will understand that hear of the Lord. let's work on that together. I think we can all work on that personally, it is going to be harder for some people but not as hard for other people. I hope you have a great day.

Pray for Papa

Hello,

You can be praying for Papa (Ron) because on Sunday we were playing football in the snow and he started running for the touchdown and he fell someone landed on top of him and he dislocated his knee. He went to the hospital on Sunday night at 6:00. He tore a ligament and has to have surgery for the surgeon to repair it. It is going to be quite a long recovery for him. There will be a lot of physical therapy and really learning how to walk all over again. The hospital said that this is a very dangerous and uncommon thing. When this happens you usually damage blood vessels but Papa didn't do that which is a good thing because he could have been bleeding internally and could have really gotten sick. Keep us in your prayers. He is going to be home for a while and is going to be going into surgery next week some time. He got home safe and has a wheel chair and a walker for getting around. Pray for our family and I will keep you updated on what happens. He is at the orthopedic surgeons office right know.

Memorize James

Today I am going to write about how our family is memorizing James 1. It is really good. We have only memorized 3 verses but it is so fun to do as a family. Our family is going to memorize 1 verse a week so by the end of the year we have memorized 52 verses from James. We are going to keep building on it and building on it. If you want to do it with us you can start at James 1:1 which says, "James, a bondservant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad: Greetings. My Brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience." (James 1:1-3) I hope that you can do this with us. It is a very good chapter and a wonderful discipline to have. Have a blessed day.

A Word Fitly Spoken

Today I was reading my Proverbs of the day and I know this verse I just wanted to write about it. All of the little kids sing this song together. It is so cute. It says,"A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold and pictures of silver" Proverbs 25:11. i know that I don't always think before I speak and I know that everybody sometimes has that issue. Sometimes you will just spit something out and just not think before you speak. We need to think and be self-controlled about what we say. We can hurt peoples feelings and then they may get bitter at us and we don't want that to happen. Just think before you speak and say kind words. God will bless you if you obey Him and listen to what his word says.I hope this encourages you and I hope you have a blessed day.

Train Up a Child

Today I was reading My Proverbs of the day and I came across Proverbs 22:6, which says,"Train up a child in the way he should go, Ans when he is old he will not depart but from it." (Proverbs 22:6) I know that none of us have any children yet. But some day we all pray for a husband so we can raise children. So, I was thinking that some of us know how to train children but others don't and we also have to remember another verse that I found. Proverbs 22:15, which says," Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; the rod of correction will drive it far from him." We need to remember that verse. That is so true because little children that I see in public are not trained and can be disobedient. We do not want to have that in our lives so we need to train our children when we have children the right way. Those of you who do not have any younger brothers or sisters may not know how to train them when they are little but you just need to go to the word of God and ask the Lord to give you the wisdom to know what and how do train them. We need to keep this in mind as it may be hard when we get older. I hope this encourages you to train you children when you have children in the way of the Lord.

Choose God's Way

This morning I am reading Proverbs 21 and just within the first few verses I found one that I thought I wanted to write about today. I liked verse 2 which says,"Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the LORD weighs the hearts." I just thought about that and said sometimes we all think that we are doing something right and when someone tells us that we were doing it wrong it bursts our bubble. I don't like when that happens to me. The Lord says that he weighs the hearts which means that he is on the hearts and if they become heavy that is not a good thing. Our hearts may become heavy with sin and bitterness. There are many other things that our heart can become heavy with. We need to purpose to choose god's way and not our own way. That is something that every Christian struggles with. The fact that we can't always have our own way through the flesh. Our flesh wants its own way all of the time but we need to be stronger in the spirit and trust in the Lord to give us strength. I hope this encourages you to choose God's way over your own selfish way.

A Child is Known by His Deeds

Today I was reading Proverbs 20 and I came across one of our memory verses that we sing to songs. It says, "Even a child is known by his deeds, Whether what he does is pure and right." I just think of that because I know that I haven't shared with my mom that sometimes when she asks me to do something I say sure I will do it but I don't want to really do it in my heart. I know that I need to share that and she asked me if there is anything that I need to share last night and I shared that with her and she just said that is something that you need to share because it is not going to bother any of us it is only going to bother you in the long run. I think that something little like that I will just forget about but then I keep thinking about it. I need to share these type of things. The reason why I tell this story is because this verse reminded me of that. It is because in our hearts we know what we do wrong and we can choose to share them or not and we should choose to share them. We need to do things the right way and stay pure. A child is known by his deeds whether he is doing something right or wrong and that child really gets to decide because if he wants people to know him as a someone who doesn't obey and honor their parents. I came to that conclusion and I think it is a very good one. I hope this encourages you and I hope you have a blessed day.
