Matthew 8:14-27
Well, yesterday was Sunday and Mr. Dohm, our elder in our church was out of town so Mr. Burroughs preached in place of him. He did a magnificent job! It was on Matthew 8:14-27. Jesus has the power to heal anybody he wants with the simplest voice, touching them, etc. We see the example of him going into Peter's house and healing his mother-in-law who is laying with fever. He just talks and she gets up and starts serving Jesus. I can't wrap my brain around the fact that all the Lord has to do is talk and someone can be healed. Also, I've never really though of sickness this way, Mr. Burroughs was saying that when sickness was born was when Adam and Eve sinned in the garden. There was no sin before then. So therefore, when you have a sickness it is most likely from sin.

Be Zealous for the Lord
I have a great verse for you today. It is Proverbs 23:17, which says, "Do not let your heart envy sinners, But be zealous for the fear of the LORD all the day;" This verse tells me that I need to make sure I am a woman who fears the Lord with all of my heart. God commands us to be zealous for his word and Him. That's what we need to live for. Living isn't just for doing good works, we need to fear our God who does everything for us. We need to praise Him in everything that we do in our lives. I know that it's easy to not even think about this but God is faithful to us so we need to be faithful to him also!!! Let's work on fearing the Lord and being zealous for Him. :)
I hope you have a great day!!

Increasing Your Faith by Studying Christ
Would you have more faith? Then seek to become more acquainted with Jesus Christ. Study your blessed Savior more and more, and strive to know more of the length and breadth and height of His love. Study Him in all His offices—as the Priest, the Physician, the Redeemer, the Advocate, the Friend, the Teacher, the Shepherd of His believing people. Study Him as one who not only died for you—but is also living for you at the right hand of God—as one who not only shed His blood for you—but daily intercedes for you at the right hand of God—as one who is soon coming again for you, and will stand once more on this earth. The miner who is fully persuaded that the rope which draws him up from the pit will not break, is drawn up without anxiety and alarm. The believer who is thoroughly acquainted with the fullness of Jesus Christ—is the believer who travels from grace to glory with the greatest comfort and peace. Then let your daily prayers always contain these words, "Lord, increase my faith."
Well, this post is from J.C. Ryle, he's so good. He always has great emails quotes that come out every morning. They're so encouraging to read every morning. It gets my morning off to a great start praising the Lord. If you'd like to get the press on the title and it will take you to his website. Hope you have a blessed day!!

Sing Praises to His Name
Well, this morning I am reading Psalm 108 and the first several verses in this chapter are about singing praises unto God. Psalm 108: 1-4 says, "O GOD, My heart is steadfast; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory. Awake, lute and harp! I will awaken the dawn. I will praise you, O lord, among the peoples, And I will sing praises to You among the nations. For Your mercy is great above the heavens, And Your truth reaches to the clouds." I think this is something that we all need to examine in our own hearts. We need to sing praises to the Lord no matter what. If you care what people think about you when you sing it shouldn't stop you at all. You should just keep singing and singing!!! You can praise God by doing many things to Him. You can pray, sing, read the Bible, etc. Lets try and focus more on praising our savior who does everything for us. We need to be extremely grateful for Him. He loves us so we must love Him!!!! Have a blessed day!!! If you'd like prayer on something you can email me at britsy94@gmail.com!!!!

I have a lot to share about training your children today. I have just read Proverbs 22 and there are a few verses on the children. First is, Proverbs 22:6, which says, " Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it." Secondly, Proverbs 22:15, which says, "Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; The rod of correction will drive it far from him." We need to seriously think about these verses. In this book of wisdom we see everything!!!! We need to listen to the wisdom that the Lord has given us and use it. He says "Train your children." A lot of people in this world just give their children everything that they want. Then, the children become spoiled and the parents wonder how that happened. Well, I have the answer, the parents didn't ever tell them no to anything. It's really a big problem in our world. So, my admonition would be to use these verses and search for more to see what God says about child training!!! Have a blessed day!!!

Strive to Be Humble
| Good Morning!!! Here is a really good quote from J.C. Ryle. It is about being humble and is really a good encouragement to you because everybody can't do all of these things and he's telling us that. |
Humility may well be called the queen of the Christian graces. To know our own sinfulness and weakness, and to feel our need of Christ, is the very beginning of saving religion. It is a grace which has always been the distinguishing feature in the character of the holiest saints in every age. Abraham, Moses, Job, David, Daniel and Paul were all eminently humble men. Above all, it is a grace within the reach of every true Christian. All have not money to give away. All have not time and opportunities for working directly for Christ. All have not gifts of speech, tact and knowledge, in order to do good in the world. But all converted people should labor to adorn the doctrine they profess by humility. If they can do nothing else, they can strive to be humble.
