Memorize James

Today I am going to write about how our family is memorizing James 1. It is really good. We have only memorized 3 verses but it is so fun to do as a family. Our family is going to memorize 1 verse a week so by the end of the year we have memorized 52 verses from James. We are going to keep building on it and building on it. If you want to do it with us you can start at James 1:1 which says, "James, a bondservant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad: Greetings. My Brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience." (James 1:1-3) I hope that you can do this with us. It is a very good chapter and a wonderful discipline to have. Have a blessed day.

A Word Fitly Spoken

Today I was reading my Proverbs of the day and I know this verse I just wanted to write about it. All of the little kids sing this song together. It is so cute. It says,"A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold and pictures of silver" Proverbs 25:11. i know that I don't always think before I speak and I know that everybody sometimes has that issue. Sometimes you will just spit something out and just not think before you speak. We need to think and be self-controlled about what we say. We can hurt peoples feelings and then they may get bitter at us and we don't want that to happen. Just think before you speak and say kind words. God will bless you if you obey Him and listen to what his word says.I hope this encourages you and I hope you have a blessed day.

Train Up a Child

Today I was reading My Proverbs of the day and I came across Proverbs 22:6, which says,"Train up a child in the way he should go, Ans when he is old he will not depart but from it." (Proverbs 22:6) I know that none of us have any children yet. But some day we all pray for a husband so we can raise children. So, I was thinking that some of us know how to train children but others don't and we also have to remember another verse that I found. Proverbs 22:15, which says," Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; the rod of correction will drive it far from him." We need to remember that verse. That is so true because little children that I see in public are not trained and can be disobedient. We do not want to have that in our lives so we need to train our children when we have children the right way. Those of you who do not have any younger brothers or sisters may not know how to train them when they are little but you just need to go to the word of God and ask the Lord to give you the wisdom to know what and how do train them. We need to keep this in mind as it may be hard when we get older. I hope this encourages you to train you children when you have children in the way of the Lord.

Choose God's Way

This morning I am reading Proverbs 21 and just within the first few verses I found one that I thought I wanted to write about today. I liked verse 2 which says,"Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the LORD weighs the hearts." I just thought about that and said sometimes we all think that we are doing something right and when someone tells us that we were doing it wrong it bursts our bubble. I don't like when that happens to me. The Lord says that he weighs the hearts which means that he is on the hearts and if they become heavy that is not a good thing. Our hearts may become heavy with sin and bitterness. There are many other things that our heart can become heavy with. We need to purpose to choose god's way and not our own way. That is something that every Christian struggles with. The fact that we can't always have our own way through the flesh. Our flesh wants its own way all of the time but we need to be stronger in the spirit and trust in the Lord to give us strength. I hope this encourages you to choose God's way over your own selfish way.

A Child is Known by His Deeds

Today I was reading Proverbs 20 and I came across one of our memory verses that we sing to songs. It says, "Even a child is known by his deeds, Whether what he does is pure and right." I just think of that because I know that I haven't shared with my mom that sometimes when she asks me to do something I say sure I will do it but I don't want to really do it in my heart. I know that I need to share that and she asked me if there is anything that I need to share last night and I shared that with her and she just said that is something that you need to share because it is not going to bother any of us it is only going to bother you in the long run. I think that something little like that I will just forget about but then I keep thinking about it. I need to share these type of things. The reason why I tell this story is because this verse reminded me of that. It is because in our hearts we know what we do wrong and we can choose to share them or not and we should choose to share them. We need to do things the right way and stay pure. A child is known by his deeds whether he is doing something right or wrong and that child really gets to decide because if he wants people to know him as a someone who doesn't obey and honor their parents. I came to that conclusion and I think it is a very good one. I hope this encourages you and I hope you have a blessed day.

Think Before you Speak

Today I was reading my Proverbs of the day and I came across this verse, it says, "He who answers a matter before he hears it, It is filly and shame to him." Proverbs 18:13 So, I know that this can seem like it is a very simple thing but I know that I do it when I am guilty and don't want to be corrected about something. Sometimes my Mom will tell me something and I won't hear it with a humble spirit and I know that that is wrong of me to do. I know that I need to let my Mom finish talking and just answer with a humble spirit. It is hard but I think that is something that also comes with maturity. When someone is talking to you and you interrupt them and justify what you have done you are guilty and there is no going around it. I know that this is something that I am going to be working on so maybe you guys could do that with me. It also means that we need to self examine tour hearts before we speak. We need to think before we speak and see if it would be something to debate about or just answer with a "Yes Mam". I hope this encourages you to do that along with me.

Stay in the Uprightness of God

Today I am going to have a really good verse for us to think about. This one I found in Psalm 14. I think it is one that we can all think about and a very good example that we need to show our younger siblings. It talks about us walking in righteousness and not in our own perverse ways. "He who walks in his uprightness fears the LORD, But he who is perverse in his own ways despises Him."We can learn form this and examine our own hearts. We all don't walk in His uprightness all of the time. Do We?? I know that I don't. I might always think that I do but most of the time I really don't. This is a part of character that we should have. I think it comes more with maturity in Christ also. But, we can do all things through Christ and we need to purpose to do this. This is something that we can show our younger siblings even when we want our own way. I think one way we can do this is reading His word everyday and putting Him our first priority in life. I hope this encourages you to be in the uprightness with God.

Be a Wise Son

Today I went to go read my Proverbs and I started and the first verse I read was the one that I was going to write about. It is Proverbs 13:1. We need to be wise and take counsel. I know that I don't always heed wisdom but I need to. We can all work on it together. Here is the verse.

"A wise son heeds his father's instruction, But a scoffer does not listen to rebuke."

So, I know that I don't always except the instruction of my mother and father. Sometimes I am way to prideful to even see what they are trying to tell me. I know that this is not a good thing. I need to take my rebukes when I get rebuked and move eon with life. God says that we need to be open to instruction and I am not always open for it. I hope that this encourages you and that we can all work on this.

Sorry I didn't post yesterday, I was sick. I am better know and am back to normal.

Have a Humble Spirit

This morning I was reading Proverbs 11 and I found a verse about being humble and not being prideful. I was just struggling with pride the other day. I had a rough day and my family prayed with me and encouraged me. I just want to thank the Lord for giving me peace and helping me through this time.

"When pride comes, then comes shame; But with the humble is wisdom." Proverbs 11:2

So, I know that we can all work on not being prideful. I know that is one of the things that I struggle with and I know I am not the only one out there but it still doesn't give me an excuse to be prideful. We need to have wisdom and be humble. It says that if you have pride then comes shame and that isn't a good thing. Let's try not to be prideful. We can pray for each other and encourage each other. I hope you have a blessed day.

A Big Surprise

Hello,

I am sorry I haven't posted in a couple of days. I have been busy because my dad surprised Tyler and I and cam down to visit us. This is the story. Are you ready?? I was walking in the kitchen on Monday at about 4:30 just about to get dinner started and Papa came up to me and said, "Can you tell this guy directions?" We have had a great time with him and it has been a blessing. I hope you are having a great day. Please pray for my Dad as he is leaving today that he would get home to Chicago safely because they have a lot of snow and it is very bad weather conditions. I hope you have a great day and a blessed day.

Fun Moments!!!

New Years weekend we had most of our family come up to visit us. We had a great time. We played a lot of Catch Phrase and just arm wrestles and other exercising contest. We all got on the Tsantles stairs and took some pictures. They turned out so cute with everybody. I really had fun and so did everybody else. We watched "Night at the Museum II" two times and stayed up really late. Us older kids went ice skating, that was interesting. Only one or two falls from each person. We had a really great time together and here is the picture. Enjoy the picture. Maybe I will post some more later.

I hope you had a great New Years and I hope you like the picture. We could not have gotten a prettier day to take a picture on. Enjoy!!!!
