Praying for my Mom

Hello,

Well, my mom had emergency gallbladder surgery yesterday because of really bad stomach pains. She got her gallbladder removed but it's not the easiest surgery. It really hurts, so be praying for her pain. Pray that we would be able to stay on top of her medicine and that she would feel good.

Thanks,

Brittany

Apply Your Heart to Wisdom

Hello All,

I just want to share a Bible verse with you. It is Proverbs 24:12, which says, "Apply your heart to instruction, and your ears to words of the knowledge." God gives us knowledge and wisdom for a reason and we need to use it because he gives it to us. I have comfort in the fact that I can apply my heart to the instruction God gives and then hear the words of knowledge. Isn't that comforting to you? I would love to talk or email anybody who needs prayer. Please leave a comment with your email and i'd be glad to email you!

Have a blessed day!

Blessings,

A Word Spoken in Due Season

Hello Everyone,

I hope you're doing well this bright and beautiful morning! I'm just finishing up my Bible reading and I wanted to share a verse with you from Proverbs 15. It is Proverbs 15:23, which says, "A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, And a word spoken in due season, how good it is!" This is something that just makes me smile, God says these types of things all of the time in the Bible and it just amazes me.

Just imagine this, if everybody in the world realized that God hears every single word they speak I think that they would be a lot more mindful of the things they said. I love this verse because when I encourage somebody in something it really makes me feel like I have followed this verse! Look at this verse and try and do what it says.

Also, remember, I'm willing to have prayer requests on here. You can email me at bristy94@gmail.com or leave a comment! I hope I get to hear from one of you. Have a blessed day!

 Blessings,
 Brittany

Post title

This morning I was reading Matthew 8 and I'm just marveled at the fact that Jesus can so anything whenever and wherever he wants. It is just amazing to me that he could live on earth and heal the person right next to him if he desired that. This should cause us to really think about Jesus in a higher way than anybody else on earth.

I'm so sorry that I haven't been blogging. I'm going to be doing it more often. You can be praying for me that I would take initiative in all things and that I would be a blessing to my parents! How can I be praying for you? You can leave a comment with your email and, I'll email you!

Celbrating Memorial Day 2012

Hello All,

This past Monday we celebrated Memorial Day. Every year there is an Old Fashioned Picnic where veterans from a bunch of different wars come and share their testimonies and their memories with us. We enjoy going every year. This year all of my little cousins and sister got matching outfits. They all looked so cute.

 From Left to Right: Emmi(9), Abby(6), Morgan(6), Tori(6), Bella(4), and Ava(4)

All the girls with a good friend who came with us to celebrate Memorial Day!
As you can see they had words on the back of their shirts to honor our Veterans who served our country. We can't thank them enough for their services.

I hope you enjoyed these pictures! I hope everybody is doing well!

Remember what Christ has done for us

But he was wounded for our transgressions;
he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
and with his stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5)

We can so often forget how much Christ did for our sins. He did more than I can ever imagine. I so often don't even think about it but it is extremely important to think about. It should tear us apart to think in what He went through just for our sins.

Blessings,
Brittany

Put on Your Full Armor of God

Do Not Be Careless! Put On Your Armor!

Let me warn all careless members of Churches to beware lest they trifle their souls into hell. You live on year after year as if there was no battle to be fought with sin, the world, and the devil; you pass through life a smiling, laughing, gentleman-like or ladylike person, and behave as if there was no devil, no heaven, and no hell. Oh, careless Churchman, or careless Dissenter, careless Episcopalian, careless Presbyterian, careless Independent, careless Baptist, awake and see eternal realities in their true light! Awake, and put on the armor of God! Awake, and fight hard for life! Tremble! Tremble, and repent!
  ~ J.C. Ryle
This is very important make sure we put on our armor everyday to fight the battle that we have. We need to trust in the Lord in everything that we do and honor our authorities that the Lord has put in our lives!!!
 Blessings,

Value the State of the Soul

You would do well to measure all people by God's standard — to measure them not by the amount of their income — but by the condition of their souls. When the Lord God looks down from Heaven upon people, He takes no account of many things which are highly esteemed by the world. He looks not at a person's money, or lands, or titles. He looks only at the state of their souls — and reckons them accordingly. Oh, that you would strive to do likewise! Oh, that you would value grace above titles, or intellect, or gold! Often, far too often, the only question asked about a person is, "How much is he worth?" It would be well for us all to remember that every person is pitiably poor — until he is rich in faith, and rich toward God.

Cereal Night!!!!!

Well, well, what do we have here????? Looks like we've been indulging in some SWEET dinner! We had a cereal for dinner night. It was so fun, while it lasted. We had about 12 boxes of cereal and boy did we eat some cereal. We all ate so much that we didn't feel good later that night! We never eat sweet cereal. Everybody brought their favorite kind of cereal!

The variety of all of the different cereal we had.We learned that mixing some different kinds together is great!

Can't forget the milk! Oh, we had to put it in a pretty dispenser.
Just about ready to start eating!
I guess Fruity Pebbles was a favorite!

Two Classes of Christ's Church

Good Morning!

I get the J. C. Ryle quotes every morning and I though I would share this mornings with you. It is so true about the churches. You're either on one spectrum or you're on the total opposite side. Which one would you be choosing today? I want to strive to honor Christ in any way that I can. I desire to become more like Christ is every area of my life. Here is the quote:

Become a Wise Man

Good Morning!

Well, finally a post after a long weekend in Asheville, NC for the NCFIC Marriage Conference! It was very fun and exhausting all at the same time!

Well, in Proverbs 1 is talks about the beginning of knowledge. We need to hear the instruction that the Lord has put in from of us through Solomon. It's something that we can strive for every single day. Let's focus on becoming a wise man! God gives us wisdom in the Bible and we should take it and accept it! I hope you have a blessed day today!

Love Wisdom

Good Morning!

God commands us multiple times to love wisdom and get it. We have to ask Him for it and when he gives it to us we need to take it and use the wisdom. So, the verse I found this morning is Prover 29:3, which says, "Whoever loves wisdom makes his father rejoice, But a companion of harlots wastes his wealth." That's why we need to love wisdom and the things that God puts in front of us.

Also, I desire to know how I can be praying for you. I would love to know the hearts of my blog readers more. Either leave me a comment or email me at britsy94@gmail.com

God Shows Us Everything

Good Morning!!

I have a quick verse to share!! Psalm 119:18, which says, "Open my eyes, that I may see Wondrous things from Your Law."  I love how it is so true! God opens our eyes when we are humble and teachable. We need to learn to be like that to Him!

Have a great day!!

David is Thankful

Good Morning!

This morning I was reading 1 Chronicles and I came across David's Song of Thanksgiving! It is such a beautiful writing! Here it is, "Oh, Give thanks to the LORD!Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples! Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; Talk of all His wondrous works! Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the LORD! Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face evermore! Remember His marvelous works which He has done, His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth, O seed of Israel His servant; You children of Jacob, His chosen ones! He is the Lord our God; His judgments are in all the earth. Remember His covenant forever, The word which he commanded for a thousand generations." Meditate on it today and be grateful just like David was!

Have a Blessed Day!!!

Gods Amazing Power

Good Morning!

I'm so sorry I haven't posted in a while. I have been taking a break trying to get my schedule and school in order! It's finally organized and on a schedule.

Well, the past several sermons that we've been hearing on Sundays are truly continuing to amaze me. I am totally amazed at the work that God can do at anytime. We're in Matthew 10 now but in chapter 8-9 is all about Jesus healing different people. It honestly makes me honor our Lord more because he can heal anybody, anything from whatever he wants with the slightest little touch. It's really the amazing power of Our Lord. Just read Matthew 8-9 and you'll understand what I'm saying!!! We need to trust in the Lord Jesus in everything that we do.

    Have a blessed day!

Matthew 8:14-27

Good Morning!

Well, yesterday was Sunday and Mr. Dohm, our elder in our church was out of town so Mr. Burroughs preached in place of him. He did a magnificent job! It was on Matthew 8:14-27. Jesus has the power to heal anybody he wants with the simplest voice, touching them, etc. We see the example of him going into Peter's house and healing his mother-in-law who is laying with fever. He just talks and she gets up and starts serving Jesus. I can't wrap my brain around the fact that all the Lord has to do is talk and someone can be healed. Also, I've never really though of sickness this way, Mr. Burroughs was saying that when sickness was born was when Adam and Eve sinned in the garden. There was no sin before then. So therefore, when you have a sickness it is most likely from sin.

Be Zealous for the Lord

Good Morning!!!!

I have a great verse for you today. It is Proverbs 23:17, which says, "Do not let your heart envy sinners, But be zealous for the fear of the LORD all the day;" This verse tells me that I need to make sure I am a woman who fears the Lord with all of my heart. God commands us to be zealous for his word and Him. That's what we need to live for. Living isn't just for doing good works, we need to fear our God who does everything for us. We need to praise Him in everything that we do in our lives. I know that it's easy to not even think about this but God is faithful to us so we need to be faithful to him also!!! Let's work on fearing the Lord and being zealous for Him. :)

I hope you have a great day!!

Increasing Your Faith by Studying Christ

Would you have more faith? Then seek to become more acquainted with Jesus Christ. Study your blessed Savior more and more, and strive to know more of the length and breadth and height of His love. Study Him in all His offices—as the Priest, the Physician, the Redeemer, the Advocate, the Friend, the Teacher, the Shepherd of His believing people. Study Him as one who not only died for you—but is also living for you at the right hand of God—as one who not only shed His blood for you—but daily intercedes for you at the right hand of God—as one who is soon coming again for you, and will stand once more on this earth.
The miner who is fully persuaded that the rope which draws him up from the pit will not break, is drawn up without anxiety and alarm. The believer who is thoroughly acquainted with the fullness of Jesus Christ—is the believer who travels from grace to glory with the greatest comfort and peace. Then let your daily prayers always contain these words, "Lord, increase my faith."
Well, this post is from J.C. Ryle, he's so good. He always has great emails quotes that come out every morning. They're so encouraging to read every morning. It gets my morning off to a great start praising the Lord. If you'd like to get the press on the title and it will take you to his website. Hope you have a blessed day!!

Sing Praises to His Name

Hello,

Well, this morning I am reading Psalm 108 and the first several verses in this chapter are about singing praises unto God. Psalm 108: 1-4 says, "O GOD, My heart is steadfast; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory. Awake, lute and harp! I will awaken the dawn. I will praise you, O lord, among the peoples, And I will sing praises to You among the nations. For Your mercy is great above the heavens, And Your truth reaches to the clouds." I think this is something that we all need to examine in our own hearts. We need to sing praises to the Lord no matter what. If you care what people think about you when you sing it shouldn't stop you at all. You should just keep singing and singing!!! You can praise God by doing many things to Him. You can pray, sing, read the Bible, etc. Lets try and focus more on praising our savior who does everything for us. We need to be extremely grateful for Him. He loves us so we must love Him!!!! Have a blessed day!!! If you'd like prayer on something you can email me at britsy94@gmail.com!!!!

Good Morning!!!

I have a lot to share about training your children today. I have just read Proverbs 22 and there are a few verses on the children. First is, Proverbs 22:6, which says, " Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it." Secondly, Proverbs 22:15, which says, "Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; The rod of correction will drive it far from him." We need to seriously think about these verses. In this book of wisdom we see everything!!!! We need to listen to the wisdom that the Lord has given us and use it. He says "Train your children." A lot of people in this world just give their children everything that they want. Then, the children become spoiled and the parents wonder how that happened. Well, I have the answer, the parents didn't ever tell them no to anything. It's really a big problem in our world. So, my admonition would be to use these verses and search for more to see what God says about child training!!! Have a blessed day!!!

Blessings,
Brittany

Strive to Be Humble

Good Morning!!! Here is a really good quote from J.C. Ryle. It is about being humble and is really a good encouragement to you because everybody can't do all of these things and he's telling us that.

Humility may well be called the queen of the Christian graces. To know our own sinfulness and weakness, and to feel our need of Christ, is the very beginning of saving religion. It is a grace which has always been the distinguishing feature in the character of the holiest saints in every age. Abraham, Moses, Job, David, Daniel and Paul were all eminently humble men. Above all, it is a grace within the reach of every true Christian. All have not money to give away. All have not time and opportunities for working directly for Christ. All have not gifts of speech, tact and knowledge, in order to do good in the world. But all converted people should labor to adorn the doctrine they profess by humility. If they can do nothing else, they can strive to be humble.

~ J.C. Ryle
